About Cheriyal Radha Krishna Jhoola Cheriyal Radha Krishna Jhoola is a vibrant expression of Cheriyal Art, a traditional scroll painting style from Telangana. This folk art is linked to storytellers. They used painted scrolls to narrate mythological and local tales to rural audiences. These paintings were traditionally created on long vertical scrolls made of khadi cloth. The cloth was prepared with natural coating layers. The cloth is treated with tamarind seed paste, rice starch, and white clay. This creates a smooth and durable painting surface. Cheriyal art draws inspiration from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, regional folklore, social customs, and community occupations. Because of these themes, each work becomes a vivid Cheriyal mythological painting. It remains rooted in culture and everyday life. The style is known for bold outlines, flat figures, and bright colors. Red is often used as the dominant background shade. Human figures feature large expressive eyes and simple yet lively forms. This makes each scene engaging and easy to follow. Traditionally, each scroll was divided into panels. Every panel represented a different part of the unfolding story.
