History of Kerala Mural Paintings
Kerala mural paintings are a rich and vibrant tradition of wall paintings that originated in the Indian state of Kerala, flourishing between the 9th and 12th centuries CE. These murals are deeply rooted in Hindu temple art, known for their mythological themes, elaborate detailing, and earthy color palette.
Key Characteristics
Medium & Surface: Painted on lime-plastered walls, often using natural pigments and vegetable dyes.
Technique: Artists used the fresco secco technique (painting on dry plaster), unlike the wet plaster method in Italian frescoes.
Color Palette: Dominated by five colors derived from natural sources:
Red – Laterite
Yellow – Yellow clay or turmeric
Green – Plant extracts
Black – Burnt coconut shells
White – Lime
Themes: Central figures are usually gods, goddesses, celestial beings, and animals from Hindu mythology. They are depicted in idealized, divine forms, with elaborate costumes and stylized gestures.

Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
Shipping

Due to the natural variations in raw materials and the handcrafting process, slight differences in colour, texture, and finish may occur compared to product images. These variations are a hallmark of authentic craftsmanship and add to the charm and individuality of every item.
